Blessed Cupboard
Blessed Cupboard is a food assistance program administered by volunteers from Shawville Bethel Pentecostal church (Shawville, Québec). The intent is to tangibly bless individuals and families with the love of Christ by assisting in meeting material needs at Christmas.
Donations from members of the Bethel church family, along with other concerned individuals, church groups, and local service clubs, cover the financial costs of this endeavour. In addition, local food retailers Value Mart, Tigre Giante, K&L Dairy and Weston Bakeries (Terry Campbell) supply products at reduced, or even no, cost.
The primary point of emphasis of Blessed Cupboard is a “Christmas Basket” distribution that is typically held on a Friday in December. Each year, dozens of individuals and families living in the area are the recipients of an extensive variety of food items.
